I haven’t seen this video in awhile but I was refreshed with it in the Elevating Enterprise Architecture course and thought I would share with all of you.
The predictions from Gartner were in my opinion, absolutely spot on. I believe we are seeing those predictions validated in the market continuously as time goes on.
Below is a video that walks through the Gartner view on the new skills EA’s must have in this ever evolving EA industry.
Some of the key messages that I extract out of this are:
EA organizations must conduct them selves as a service provider with quantifiable value, metrics/KPIs, SLAs and predictable and repeatable results.
The role of the enterprise architect has shifted from a purely technical guru
Value identification and creation is critical
The way in which an EA conducts his/her job has to shift from the “know it all IT person” to the collaborative, inclusive, empathic and professional style of doing business
